  This understated, but pleasingly delighful remake of a long time tradition at this location. Stop by this 5 star location for an excellent meal in a relaxing atmosphere. Now called the NU-CAVU, and doing a healthy business with good food, reasonalbe prices, a nice bar area and a good serving staff to make your visit very enjoyable. Try it for lunch or dinner, you won't be sorry. Closed Tuesdays. Oh yes, you can watch the planes take off if you face the runway.

  This newly opened restaurant is still on a shakedown cruise. We were met immediatly upon entering and seated in a nice booth without a pause. The server asked for a drink order which we gave. Out complemantary nachos and salsa arrived next, but our cocktails got lost. Too long to deliver the drinks.
  
  Our steaks were cooked as requested and came with greens,potatoes and a glass of wine. The T-bones we ordered were very tasty, and while being plate filling, they were about 1/2" thick. All this for $19.95.
  
  The men's restroom was messy. The sinks were dirty and paper towels covered the floor.
  
  The waitstaff was very attentive and professional. I believe the place deserves another visit. A good 4 star place for dinner.

  The only place around where you can go to the bar and have a cigar. No smoking in the restaurant area. This place reminds me of the New York steak houses like the Palm and Smith and Wolenski. You get a good drink and a great steak for your money, and you better have some. A little pricey for the valley, but well worth fare. Very nice and active bar for the adults. The best steak house in the area.

  Newly reopened (March 09) and under new management, Mariners is trying hard to get the kinks out of their operation. The view is great, parking is adequate, and their is outside dining if you wish.
  
  The service personnel were very attentive, but service was a little on the slow side. It took too long to get bar service brought to the table. The food service was also very slow and it too over 30 minutes for the meals to be served. This is with, what I estimated, about 25% capacity. When they arrived, the meals looked and tasted suburb. Unfortunately, my steak which was ordered med-rare, arrived very rare. I declined to have it advanced to the ordered level as we had already spent too much time trying to eat. The manager, who was notified by our server, came to the table to see what she could do. In spite of declining any complementy accomodations, the drink charge was removed from the bill.
  
  The food was good enough and the management seemed sincere. In light of this, I will definately give this restaurant another chance.
  
  PS Not inexpensive, but a good value. Enjoy

  A cozy eatery in the middle of downtown Highland. Perfectly done items for breakfast and lunch. Priced moderately, but well worth the fare. No alcohol. Very friendly staff which provides very good service.

  This venue is now called Elsie's Place. It is a warm neighborhood type of bar-restaurant. Food is good and a value priced. Staff is very accomodating and the owner, Myrna, is usually on site supervising operations. Open for lunch Tues.-Sun. Open Monday at 4pm. We go there often. Try it, you'll like it.
